Our People
Dr. Mary Foltz
Hi, I am Mary Foltz (she/her), a new assistant professor at Oklahoma State University and creator of the Engineering Nature-Inspired Solutions (ENIS) research group. Generally my research interests include finding ways to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and improve water quality within engineered and natural systems.
I am happily married and have two curious children. My family is the central part of my identity and shapes how I interact with others and the world. I consider my research group an extension of my family and welcome each student as they are, with unique personalities and experiences that contribute to our overall group dynamic. Communication, honesty, and respect are critical areas emphasized in my professional and personal life.
My hobbies include walking, reading, and playing games. I have managed to maintain walking and reading since having children, although the walks are shorter and the books are simpler. I also love my pets, which were my first “babies”, and include them in our family fun!.
