Safety

Safety Orientation, Quiz, and Cards. All STUDENTS, TAs, and Professors using ENDEAVOR MUST take the safety orientation and pass a quiz.  Bring either a screenshot or print out to the ENDEAVOR help desk that is open from 1 pm to 5 pm near room ENDV 160 or 222.

Instructions

• Join the CEAT ENDEAVOR and NCL Canvas site
• Click on the Safety Orientation and Quiz page, and follow direction
• Bring results to help desk and receive an ENDEAVOR safety card.  This card is important because laboratories will be audited for safety compliance.

• Safety Glasses

  Safety glasses must be worn in these rooms. These can be provided by the university, so ask an instructor if you need a pair prior to working in the lab. If you already wear glasses, it is still required that safety glasses are worn over them. Specific styles are available that fit over most glasses styles.

  Flow Laboratory Geotech Laboratory Materials and Characterization Processes and Transport

• Long Pants

  Students and faculty working in these rooms must be wearing long pants. Shorts, capris, dresses or skirts are not permitted, especially in rooms where chemicals are being used. 

   

  Locations Required:

  All laboratory spaces within the ENDEAVOR building have this safety requirement. Shorts or capris are only permitted in common or  study areas. 

• Closed-Toed Shoes

  Students working in rooms with this safety requirement must wear closed toed shoes at all times. Non-slip shoes are recommended but not required. Flip-flops and other sandals will not be permitted. This applies to those working in the labs, as well as anyone passing through. 

   

  Locations Required:

  All laboratory spaces within the ENDEAVOR building have this safety requirement. Open-toes shoes are only permitted in common or  study areas.
