Electrical

The Bachelor of Science program in Electrical Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Electrical, Computer, Communication, and Telecommunication(s) Engineering Program Criteria.

Program Educational Objectives:

BSEE

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree program educates and prepares electrical engineers who, within a few years after graduation:

  • Proficiently use mathematical and scientific knowledge to solve real-world problems associated with analog and digital electrical circuits, devices, components, sensors, and systems.
  • Skillfully use sound electrical engineering principles, competently design per standards and specifications, and effectively utilize modern instruments and simulation tools.
  • Embrace ethical ideals, manifest self-reliance and determination, demonstrate continuous learning, and strive for engineering excellence.
  • Practice effective leadership, teamwork, and communication to excel in productivity.
  • Adeptly identify and contribute to solving challenging engineering problems that improve the lives of people in Oklahoma and beyond.

BSCpE

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE) degree program educates and prepares computer engineers who, within a few years after graduation:

  • Proficiently use mathematical and scientific knowledge to solve real-world problems associated with digital systems and networks, computer hardware and software applications, algorithms, and artificial intelligence.
  • Skillfully use sound computer engineering principles, competently design per standards and specifications, and effectively utilize modern instruments and simulation tools.

Student Outcomes:  BSEE and BSCpE

The baccalaureate programs of ECE have student outcomes that support the BSEE and BSCpE Education Objectives.  Attainment of these outcomes prepares ECE graduates to enter their professional practice.

  1. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  3. an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  5. an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  6. an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  7. an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies
