Summer Bridge
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I have to live in Parker Hall during and after Summer Bridge?
Yes! Summer Bridge participants are required to live in Parker Hall during Summer Bridge, and for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters.
- Are Pre-CEAT students able to participate in Summer Bridge?
Yes! We encourage students admitted to Pre-CEAT to participate in Summer Bridge.
- How do I select a room in Parker Hall?
The room selection process will not begin until spring 2025. To prepare for success, please submit your $300 OSU Enrollment Deposit as soon as possible after December 1 and complete the OSU Housing Application once it opens in February. We will share very specific information about room selection in the spring.
- What does a typical day look like during Summer Bridge?
Participants rotate through various academic tracks (such as math, physics, intro to engineering), participate in design projects with college faculty, and hear from OSU campus resources and programs and attend study hall. Additionally, students might hear from our industry partners during a company spotlight or spend time in their small groups with peer mentors.
- Do Summer Bridge participants have to move out of Parker Hall after the program and
move back in during the regular fall semester move-in?
No, you only move in once. Participants have housing between Summer Bridge ending and the fall semester beginning as their Summer Bridge residence hall room is their room for the entire year.
- Do Summer Bridge participants receive academic credit?
Yes! Participants receive one hour of academic credit for ENGR 1111 – Introduction to Engineering after successfully completing the program.
- Are single rooms available in Parker Hall?
Typically, only students who receive an accommodation through Student Accessibility Services can maintain a single room. If one does find a single room during the housing selection process, we cannot guarantee that room will remain a single room should we receive additional applicants for Summer Bridge or the Living Learning Program. Our priority is having as many CEAT students live in Parker Hall as possible.
- Are transfer students able to participate in Summer Bridge?
No, participants must be first-time, full-time OSU students coming from high school.
